Stem Cell Therapy at GGRC

On August 2-5, Turkish professors visited the Georgian-German reproductive center GGRC to introduce the latest innovative medical procedure. In medicine, there are not so many treatment methods that are used with equal success in different fields, and even less are equally accessible, safe and effective. Stem cells therapy  represents that rare innovative treatment method in modern medicine, which is used with equal success in different fields of medicine, as it rejuvenates and restores tissues at the cellular level. Stem cells from the human placenta, cord blood, amniotic fluid and menstrual blood (among other reproductive tissues) are a rich, non-invasive and ethically acceptable source of stem cells. These stem cells can be used for regenerative medicine and are potentially amenable to reprogramming for use in various patient-specific cell therapies.Today, stem cell regenerative therapy is considered to be the most effective method of infertility treatment in the world, both in men and women. In female infertility, stem cell therapy is of great importance in preparing the patient for in vitro fertilization (IVF or ICSI), which reduces the percentage of failure of this procedure. During female infertility, stem cells affect the activation of ovarian function, help restore the inner lining of the uterus, which is important for embryo implantation and preparation of the fetus. As a result of cell therapy, the functions of the endocrine and nervous systems of the female body improve significantly. The Georgian-German Reproductive Center GGRC is one of the first in the field of reproductive medicine in Georgia to introduce this innovation and will give many hopeless women another chance to reproduce. The first procedures were carried out free of charge for 3 patients who were selected based on preliminary studies by the clinic’s reproductive specialists.  Georgian doctors performed the procedure under the supervision of experienced Turkish professors, Histology and embryology Proffessor Utku Ates, Plastic Surgeon and the inventor of Adinizer Prof Dr. Eray Copcu and Head of Cell Products at Stembio Dr.Kagan Gungor
